Arsenal injury update: Gervinho, Gibbs, Diaby, Coquelin

Arsène Wenger has given the latest Arsenal team news ahead of Monday night’s Premier League match at home against Wigan.

This game offers us the chance to (at least artificially) move 8 points clear of Tottenham and 10 points clear of Chelsea. Our two North London rivals are playing each other in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and therefore miss out on this weekend’s Premier League action.

Newcastle are also not playing this weekend, so we would move 8 points clear of them too.

The good news is that there are no new injuries after our 3-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday evening. Kieran Gibbs will have a late fitness test, but Gervinho is likely to be available on Monday night after missing the last two games. Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin are yet to return to full training.

Team News

“From the Wolves game, no [there are no new injuries]. We have the usual bumps and bruises after a game of that intensity, but overall no I don’t think anybody has a problem.”

Kieran Gibbs

“There is a possibility for Gibbs [to play against Wigan]. It is 50:50 that he will be available again. He is improving day to day and has been practising but not with the team.”

Gervinho

“Gervinho is a strong possibility to face Wigan, he is 80:20.”

Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin

“Diaby will not play against Wigan. He is alright though. Diaby and Coquelin will come back into the squad next week for full training.”

Wenger is a joke, After a game of high intensity against Wolves. Please. Does he think we are fools. Maybe we are. He is the one on 7 million pound a year in the dream job where he does nothing at all. Just hangs out with players and tells them to play with joy, play on the floor, and pass in triangles.

Permalink you must be a very sad lonely SPUD. 13 points ahead and on Monday you could be 8 points behind, must make you very soar. Then when Chelski beat you Saturday your season is over and you will be suicidal. Same old Spurs always 2nd best in North London and 4th best in London, we do feel sorry for you, not lol lol lol not.

Please Wenger, we´ve had our fill of Ramsey starts. I think that we have thoroughly evaluated him has crap. Can we not have the the ´Team Handbrake´ in the line-up again?

And all this BS so that AOC doesn’t get a decent run-out to keep him out of the Euro squad…it won’t work, cat’s out of the bag, and they will end up selecting him anyway…no one wants the Citeh crap working wings…
