Arsenal team news: Vermaelen, Rosicky, Diaby, Arteta, Coquelin, Fabianski

Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest Arsenal team news ahead of our FA Cup 4th round clash against Brighton & Hove Albion. Wenger has given quite a comprehensive update, including news on the ankle injury that Thomas Vermaelen picked up against West Ham. Tomas Rosicky & Abou Diaby are back in the squad, Arteta, Coquelin and Fabianski are still out.

Thomas Vermaelen:

“Vermaelen will not be available. He did his ankle against West Ham. He could have played on and I took him off as a precaution. It got a bit worse yesterday so we will not gamble on him. It is short-term.”

Tomas Rosicky/Abou Diaby

“We have Rosicky and Diaby available. [Rosicky] had a great impact last year in our comeback from February until May. Hopefully he’ll do that again this season. Unfortunately we lost him during the European Championships. He’s just back to full fitness now I believe.”

Mikel Arteta/Francis Coquelin

“Arteta and Coquelin are still out. Arteta is closer than Coquelin. It is still a matter of days for them.”

Lukasz Fabianski

“Fabianski has been back in full training since yesterday. He is still short but it is the first time since pre-season that he has been in full training. With him and Rosicky coming back we are gradually getting everyone back.”

In other news, we have published some post-match thought from our 5-1 win over West Ham for those of you who are interested. It was a game in which 10 minutes really changed everything.

So Arsene Wenger thinks the January transfer market is unfair and clubs should be limited to just two signings. Well considering that antiquated dinosaur cannot even manage to sign one illustrates just how useless he has become. He should spend more time sorting out his own average team and less time talking about others. He is such a whining, bitter, unambitious and BORING football manager out there – and I have just seen that we lost out to United for Zaha – another exciting player that obviously is not “top top quality” like Aaron Ramsey, Gervinho or Chamakh – I truly hope he goes soon as he is turning the club into a laughing stock..
