“Fee agreed” for Arsenal target

As arsenal.com announce that the club has agreed terms with Barcelona for Fabregas, his replacement is apparently already being lined up. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Jadson is reportedly on his way to London, with a fee already in place with his Ukrainian team.

Shakhtar’s manager, Mircea Lucescu, has said the following:

“I can confirm Jadson is wanted by Arsenal. Now it all depends on him.”

Lucescu’s comments indicate that all that is left to agree are personal terms for Jadson. A transfer fee in the region of £10 million is Jadson’s reported transfer value.

Jadson has scored 60 goals in 257 games for Shakhtar, in an attacking midfield role. The 27 year old has experience in the UEFA Cup and the Champions League. In fact, he scored the winner as his side beat Werder Bremen in the 2009 UEFA Cup final, when he was also named man of the match.

With Fabregas and Nasri set to depart, Wenger needs to add more midfield creativity to his side. Despite the number of attackers in the squad, we are lacking central midfielders to supply them. The only midfielders in our squad are Wilshere, Song, Ramsey, Diaby, Frimpong and Rosicky. However, we also have Eastmond, Lansbury and Henderson from the reserves. In addition, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arshavin could play in the Fabregas role.

Jadson would be a decent replacement for Cesc. Although it’s not like for like – nobody can replace our mercurial captain – he has the experience and skill to play at the heart of our midfield.

The Brazilian said the following on his Twitter:

“My friends! If all goes well at the start of next week I will have news for you.”

Let’s hope that this news means that Jadson is going to be a Gooner.

no big loss just another captain…….

Thanks for the entertainment Fabbo. Shame you couldn’t win anything while captain. Only legends achieved that feat.

The greatest relief is that next season the press will have to find something else to sell papers.

Well now guys time to reshuffle the entire club- both playing and non-playing.
Fabrepass is gone! True, but it seems you guys are forgetting something. Let me give you an inkling – The team is still ARSENAL FC !!!
I can’t berate a player who badly wants to leave, afterall, he was only homesick! And that’s should be expected from a player who won nothing with his team for six years!
The question that needs be asked is, “What if you were in his shoes?”.

We don’t have to. Why have one if neither the club or player want one. Spanish clubs have to include the clause in players contracts, hence the €200 mil clause in fabs. No one will ever pay that but at least it means barca have the final choice on whether to accept a bid or not.

    *sigh*

Been very disappointed with the window so far. I knew fab was gunna go but not nasri. And at the moment we don’t have an adequate replacement for either.

On top of that we’re still no closer to signing a CB. All summer we’ve been linked to almost every cb in the world and AW has said we’re in the Market for one yet with only 2 weeks left we still short of options.

I’m pro Wenger without a doubt, but in all fairness I’ve got p1ssed off quite a bit with his lack of quality signings this summer. Why on earth is he wasting time haggling when he’s got fortunes in the bank to spend. We need players NOW so the can integrate into the squad, otherwise we could end up facing a season in the Europa league which will inevitably cost us the money AW is trying to save by haggling.

Sign Jadson and lets play him on the wing that nasri will eventually vacate and sign Mata who has more skill than Cesc and has a very wide array of passing.
