Arsenal’s on-loan winger Ryo Miyaichi has been in fine form for Bolton since his move in January. He was voted February Player of the Month by Bolton fans after scoring on his first start in a 2-0 FA Cup win against Millwall.
Gary Neville, who has become an annoyingly good pundit since retiring from football, chose Ryo as his Man of the Match as Bolton won 2-1 today against QPR in a tight match. Some key controversial decisions steered the game in Bolton’s favour, and the most vital was when a QPR goal wasn’t given despite clearly having gone over the line. There’s no need to re-hash the goal-line technology argument… especially when it led to Mark Hughes and Joey Barton’s side losing!
Ryo had another impressive performance today, creating the winner for Ivan Klasnic with less than ten minutes to go. The score was 1-1 and the ball was lifted up towards our young star. He managed to get it under control, before taking a few classy touches and finding a perfect pass ahead of Klasnic.
Despite Arsenal’s wealth of talent of the wings, it is great to hear that Ryo is coming along well after both Wilshere and Sturridge had successful loan spells at Bolton. Although Ryo isn’t blessed with strength, he seems determined to fight for every ball. Along with his pace and fantastic control, he will definitely bring another dimension to our attack on his return to the club. There is every chance that he will be heavily involved in the first-team squad next season.
