[Video] Van Persie 2011/12 Highlights & PFA Acceptance Speech

Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the last few days, you will already be well aware that Robin van Persie was named as the 39th PFA Player of the Season on Sunday evening.

Below I have embedded a video which includes the presentation of the award by fellow Dutchman Ruud Gullit, a nicely put together highlight real of van Persie’s fantastic 2011/12 campaign and then the acceptance speech by our captain himself.

A few of the Arsenal players can also be seen in the crowd, including Alex Song, who would surely be nominated for the PFA Stupidest Haircut Award if there was such a thing.

Van Persie describes his move to Arsenal as “a dream come true” and goes on to show his appreciation to Arsène Wenger for having confidence in him and sticking by him during his injury problems. RvP then completely dodged the issue of whether or not he will sign a contract extension at the end of the season, but that was to be expected. Hopefully our star striker will sit down with Wenger at the end of the season and reach an agreement about his future in North London.
